HOW TO GET A TAX I.D. #  FOR AA GROUP BANK ACCOUNTS

1.  The form SS-4 for non-profit organizations can be found at the IRS website http://www.irs.gov/. Enter "SS-4" (no quotes) in their site's search box.  If you have no access to the web, call 1-800-829-1040 (toll free) and ask the IRS to send you Form SS-4 for non-profit organizations.  Explain that you only want the Tax I.D. # for banking purposes.  Give the IRS your name and address for mailing the form to you. 

2. Fill out the SS-4 form.  If you have any questions, call 1-800-829-1040 again and ask for help completing the form.

3.  When the form is completed:  Fax it to 1-801-620-7115.  The IRS will send you your Tax ID # by mail in 10-15 working days or fax it to your fax number within 5-7 working days.  Put that # on your SS-4 form's upper right hand corner and make a photo copy of it for your group's records.

4.  Mail the completed form SS-4 (with your Tax I.D. #  in the upper right hand corner) to Internal Revenue Service, Ogden, UT  84291.

5.  You now have Tax I.D. # to take to your bank.

NOTE:  It is always a good idea to check the IRS website for the latest version of the SS-4 form and the current phone numbers and addresses for submitting you form.

Saturday, May 11th -  The Unity Committee will host the FIVE-COUNTY ZONE FUN SHOP from Noon until 4 pm at the Princetom Presbyterian Church at 933 Baltimore Pike in Springfield, Delaware County.  The theme is "We are not a glum lot."

 

Sunday, June 23rd - The Unity Committee will host the UNITY PICNIC at Neshaminy State Park, Pavilion #1, State Road at Dunks Ferry Road in Bensalem, Bucks County.  Swimming pool ($8 fee), fishing, and kid-friendly. Noon to 5 pm. (rain or shine) Speaker meeting at 2 pm.  Please bring a covered dish.  Please mark the date.

 

Sunday, September 15th - the Prison Committee presents A PRISON COMMITTEE WORKSHOP on 9/15 at Noon until 4 pm at the SEPIA Office.  Come learn how to get a badge in all counties; the guidelines used in prisons; all aspect of the Prison Committee; Temporary Contact.  There will be guest speakers.  A donation of food/water/set-u[p and break-down will be appreciated.

BUCKS COUNTY:  

Friday, May 31st - the DOYLESTOWN GAY MEN'S DISCUSSION group is celebrating their 31st anniversary at 7 pm (Food/Fellowship) and 8 pm (Double Speakers) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 84 East Oakland Avenue in Doylestown. (Use entrance in the back of church parking lot on Pine Street). 

CHESTER COUNTY:  

Friday to Sunday, October 25th, 26th and 27th - the DOWNINGTOWN YOUNG PEOPLES CONFERENCE-  will have their annual 37th year conference in northern Chester County on the banks of French Creek (about 45 minutes from downtown Philadelphia).  Save the date! 

DELAWARE COUNTY:

Wednesday, June 19th - the CEDARS group of A.A. will celebrate their 32nd anniversary from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Wentz's Church, 3246 Skippack Pike (Rt. 73) in Worchester, PA  19490.

Thursday, June 20th - the SCHWENKSVILLE group of A.A. will celebrate their anniversary from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Central Perkiomen Valley Park, 1 Plank Road (between Rts. 29 and 73) across Plank Road from the Old Mill House.  Bring a covered dish, salad or dessert to add to the hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls and condiments provided by the group.  Speaker at 6:30pm.

PHILADELPHIA:

Saturday, May 18th - the NEW BEGINNINGS group of A.A. will celebrate their 8th anniversary at Episcopal Hospital, Front Street & Lehigh Avenue, 1st Floor, Lobby Area from 7:P00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Food donations gratefully accepted. 

 

Friday, May 24th to Monday, May 27th - there will be a MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND ALKATHON at the 4021 Clubhouse in Philadelphia starting from 9 pm on Friday and ending at 7 pm on Monday. 45 Home Groups participating.  Any questions, contact Phil R. Thursday, June 6th - the ONE PARKWAY group of A.A. will celebrate their 35th anniversary on June 6th at 6 pm at Arch Street United Methodist Church, Broad & Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA  19107.  Food, fun and fellowship!

 

Sunday, June 23rd - the SUNSHINE group of A.A. willhost their ANNUAL GRATITUDE MEETING on 6/23 at 3 pm at the Calvary Church, Pulaski and Manheim.

 

 

OTHER EVENTS

  

2013 French Creek AA Campfire MeetingS have started up!  They will run from April 27th through October - Food and fellowship starts at 4:30 pm; Saturday meeting starts at 7 pm.  Bon fire, cooking grills supplied, dishes to share are welcomed.  Open meeting of AA - all family members welcome, bring kids & pets (on a leash) & bring marshmallows!

 

Saturday and Sunday, May 18th - 19th - the CIRCLE OF HOPE ROUND UP (sponsored by Reading/Berks Intergroup) will be held at Rodeway Inn, 2545 N. 5th Street, Reading, PA  19605.  Registrations forms are available at www.circleofhoperoundup.com .

 

Sunday, May 19th - Districts 25, 26, 27 & 28 are hosting a workshop from Noon until 3 pm on "AA Unity" at the SEPIA office, 444 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

SEPIA is always in need of volunteers to help carry the message of recovery. You simply have to show up. Most committees do not have a length of sobriety requirement. There are several ways to get involved.

  1. Volunteer at the SEPIA office. We ask one year of continuous sobriety to answer phones at the office. If you have less than a year, there are plenty of things you can do to help. For instance, we can always use help putting our newsletter, Interviews, together toward the end of each month.
  2. Get involved with one of our 12 Step Committees (Click Here). These committees meet at the SEPIA office, 444 N. 3rd Street, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the following nights:
